How to join Rotary
New members are welcome at the Rotary Club of Sri Lanka. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and sponsorship by three current club members. If you are considering joining the Rotary Club of Sri Lanka and don't know a Rotarian, please contact Nalin at 0777-777777
Those considering membership in 3220 Sri Lanka should attend a meeting at the invitation of another member. This important first step introduces potential members to Rotarians and provides a first-hand look at club projects and activities.
When invited to join, the candidate receives an application package that explains dues, contributions to the Club's Annual Giving Campaign, the responsibilities and expectations of membership, along with other information about Rotary International and 3220.
The candidate submits their application, which is reviewed by the Membership Committee and the Board of Directors for approval. Once approved, the Club office notifies the new member and invites them to complete the new member process, including payment of initiation fees and dues submission of bio and picture, and participation in the club orientation. Upon completion of this process, the new member is formally introduced to the membership by the President and their Sponsor at a regular Friday meeting.
Gateway Committee When new members join the Rotary Club of Sri Lanka, they are automatically enrolled in Gateway, which is an orientation program to help them assimilate into the club and learn about activities, committees and programs. The Gateway Committee meets once a month. The Club recommends that new members participate in at least six Gateway meetings during their first year.
