Rtn Imran Hassen District Governor 2013/14
Rtn PHF Imran Hassen joined the Rotary Club of Cinnamon Gardens in the year 1991
He has held the positions of Secretary, Director Club Administration, Vice President, President Elect, Director Membership Development and Foundation Chairman in the Club before being appointed President of the Rotary Club Cinnamon Gardens in the year 1999-2000. Thereafter he has been on the Board of the Club till 2011.
From the year 2000 he has served in the District under several Governors till he was appointed as DGN in the year 2011. Some of the important appointments held were District Sergeant in the year 2001/ 2002 and Governors Aide in 2004. In the year 2007 he served as the District Secretary and 2008 he was the Assistant Governor.
Rtn Imran Hassen is a member of the Rotary Leadership Institute and conducts seminars in this field and is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow.
Rtn Imran Hassen has attended several Rotary International Conventions including the one held in Singapore where he served as Sergeant at Arms and also in Log Angeles and Montreal. He also attended several Rotary Zonal Institutes in India and Bangkok.
Rtn Imran introduced a unique scheme to enlist Club members as Paul Harris Fellows to help the Rotary Foundation in 2004 and was successful in making 80% of Club members PHF’s.
Rtn Imran had his primary and secondary education at D.S. Senanayake College, Colombo and whilst at School excelled in Rugby, Captaining the College first fifteen team in 1979. He went onto play (A) Division Club Rugby for CH&FC from 1980 to 1987 and represented his Club in several International Asian Tournaments.
Imran is a qualified Marketer and is the Chairman and Managing Director of Securo Dynamics (Pvt) Ltd and Red Alert International (Pvt) Ltd, two leading companies in Sri Lanka handling Electronic Security and Safety Systems. Imran’s hobby is car rallying and has won several awards as Navigator and Co-Driver.
Rtn Imran is married to Ann Anusha and are blessed with one daughter and three sons namely Radhia, Anjum, Adib and Aashiq.
